A new mode has been introduced for WoW Classic Hardcore, allowing players to experience a completely solo version of the game—self-found mode—which is now accessible on Hardcore servers.
This fresh game mode restricts interactions with other players in most conventional ways, disabling trading, mailing, and the use of the Auction House while this challenging ruleset is active. Solo self-found mode elevates the already demanding WoW Classic experience to a higher level of difficulty, ensuring that everything accomplished in the world is achieved independently.
This ruleset presents a significant challenge compared to standard WoW Classic Hardcore runs, and some players may find themselves surprised by the heightened difficulty once they venture into the world. If you encounter difficulties with SSF mode after enabling it during character creation, you have the option to disable it. Here’s how to opt out of solo self-found mode in WoW Classic Hardcore.
How to Disable Self-Found Mode in Classic WoW Hardcore
You have the flexibility to deactivate the solo self-found ruleset, which prohibits trading and item exchanges with other WoW Classic Hardcore players, at any time. However, it’s important to note that once disabled, you cannot re-enable it.
The only way to enable the ruleset is by selecting it during character creation when starting a new character. Subsequently, you can only disable it by speaking to an Apprentice Watcher located in one of the game’s major cities. These NPCs facilitate the permanent decision to opt out of solo self-found mode during your Hardcore journey.
Locations of Apprentice Watchers in WoW Classic Hardcore
Alliance
- Hall of Explorers, Ironforge
- Temple of the Moon, Darnassus
Horde
- Hall of Legends, Orgrimmar
- The Apothecarium, Undercity
Players who participated in the WoW Classic Season of Mastery in 2021 should be familiar with Apprentice Watchers, as these High Elf NPCs are the same individuals players would approach to activate the Soul of Iron buff, a hallmark of a deathless SoM run.
