Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth – How to Get the Street Surfer

In the teasers and overview trailers preceding the release of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, eager fans got a glimpse of various features awaiting them in the game. From iconic elements of the rebranded Yakuza series to new additions like Bike Delivery and DonDoko Island minigames, the game promised an extensive and immersive experience.

Among the fresh features introduced in Infinite Wealth is the Street Surfer. Despite its name suggesting a cool class for Ichiban to embrace, the Street Surfer isn’t a Job – it’s a motorized eco-scooter. With this nifty vehicle, Ichiban and the gang can traverse Hawaii at a significantly faster pace. However, unlocking this mode of transport takes a few hours into the game, typically shortly after reaching Hawaii.

The Street Surfer isn’t initially at Ichiban’s disposal; players can only access it after completing the introductory chapters. As the game kicks off, Kasuga and his crew find themselves in relatively ordinary jobs in and around Yokohama. However, the narrative takes an intriguing turn, propelling Kasuga to Hawaii after startling revelations from an old acquaintance.

In the initial chapters, spent mostly in Yokohama, players have the chance to explore familiar locations, such as the Pawn Shop near the homeless camp. As Chapter Three unfolds, Ichiban arrives in Hawaii, marking the beginning of the game’s primary adventure through Honolulu.

In Chapter Three, as part of the main story, Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga cross paths near Kiryu’s hotel. Just outside, players can discover the substory ‘Surfin The Streets.’ The Street Surfer scooter is conveniently located on the sidewalk, initiating the substory when approached.

How To Use Street Surfer

Completing the ‘Surfin The Streets’ substory grants players the freedom to use the Street Surfer at will. Pressing down on the D-Pad allows Ichiban to ride his Street Surfer. Setting a waypoint on the world map and pressing the right trigger while riding the Street Surfer enables automatic travel towards the chosen location, akin to a free Taxi.

While the Street Surfer offers convenient travel, it comes with a cost – it needs regular recharging. Oka Chargers, resembling surfboards, serve as charging stations scattered throughout Honolulu. When the Street Surfer runs low on battery, players can locate these stations to recharge and even customize the scooter’s appearance.
