How to prepare for WoW Classic Season of Discovery phase two
The to-do list for preparing your character for Season of Discovery is extensive, but you may have completed some tasks while playing the game. Ideally, completing the entire checklist will have you entering phase two with a smile.
Level up characters to level 25
The first and most crucial task on this to-do list is to level up all characters you plan to play to level 25. This includes your main and any alts you want to use. Having all characters at level 25 gives you a head start, eliminating the need to run old dungeons. While phase two offers an experience bonus from level one to 25, you wouldn’t want to be stuck in the Barrens while your friends enjoy Stranglethorn Vale.
Level up your professions to 150
The profession cap in phase one was 150, and it’s essential to bring all your characters up to speed. Phase two brings several profession changes, including new materials, recipes, and a level cap increase. Starting to gather these early is crucial, as professions are a lucrative source of gold during new phases due to high demand. Obtaining valuable recipes or rare crafting materials early on can lead to a significant fortune.
Level up your weapon skills
Leveling up weapon skills in WoW Classic may be tedious, as you deal less damage and struggle to hit enemies, making even a single tiger feel like a raid boss. Nevertheless, it’s necessary. Purchase the cheapest sword or mace from the auction house (if not already using one) and level up your weapon skills on low-level mobs outside of Stormwind or Orgrimmar. This shouldn’t take long (half an hour tops if starting from level one).
Gear up all your characters
While you may have cleared Blackfathom Depths multiple times in phase one, it’s essential to emphasize having best-in-slot gear. This ensures efficient mob takedowns during leveling and provides an advantage in PvP encounters in Stranglethorn Vale and Hillsbrad Foothills. The upcoming major PvP event, similar to the Battle for Ashenvale, will unfold in Stranglethorn Vale, known as a massive open-world battleground. Players will be eager to engage in PvP, so having top-notch gear is your best defense against enemy players.
Unlock flight points
To swiftly move between zones and outpace other players, run to locations like Hillsbrad Foothills, Stranglethorn Vale, Thousand Needles, and Dustwallow Marsh now. Acquire flight paths to save time, allowing you to arrive gracefully, set your Hearthstone, pick up quests, and immediately start your questing endeavors without getting caught up in player herds.
