One of the final stages in completing the quest chain necessary for crafting epic gear during phase two of WoW Classic’s Season of Discovery involves acquiring a reagent known as the Mote of Darkness. This enigmatic material can be sourced from various locations, all tied to the appearance of a specific NPC called the “Shadowy Figure,” who spawns randomly.
The method to summon this elusive figure remains somewhat obscure, though it’s confirmed that you must be undertaking the quest “Warranty Claim” and defeating numerous enemies of comparable level.
How to Trigger the Appearance of the Shadowy Figure
In WoW SoD, obtaining a Mote of Darkness involves farming mobs of appropriate levels until the Shadowy Figure materializes. Once she appears, engaging in a series of dialogues with her will eventually lead to acquiring the Mote of Darkness.
While there’s no definitive method to summon the Shadowy Figure, many WoW Classic players suggest rapidly farming mobs at or near your level within densely populated areas. Prime locations for mob farming, potentially triggering the Shadowy Figure’s appearance, include the Mannoroc Coven in Desolace, Feathermoon Stronghold in Feralas, or Stranbrad in the Alterac Mountains.
Once you obtain the Mote of Darkness from the Shadowy Figure, combine it with the Spent Voidcore (found from Nagas south of Feathermoon Stronghold in Feralas) to craft the Charged Voidcore.
