Wartales Travel Post guide

In Wartales, while the turn-based battle system takes center stage, navigating the main map is equally important. With its vast world, a fast-travel system proves invaluable. Here’s your comprehensive guide to traveling in Wartales.

How to acquire a Travel Post in Wartales

Each region in the game boasts a Travel Post located within its main town. However, these posts become available for construction only after reaching Level 4 of the Trade and Craftsmanship Path. This milestone is easily attainable through routine game activities like compensating companions, cooking, and crafting.

Below are the locations and costs (in Region-locked Mode) for each Travel Post:

  • Tiltren County (Stromkapp): 500 Krowns
  • Vertruse Province (Marheim): 1,000 Krowns
  • County of Arthes (Cortia): 1,000 Krowns
  • Ludern Region (Garussa Clan): 1,000 Krowns
  • Grinmere Province (next to Tavern of Fortunes Made): 1,500 Krowns
  • Drombach County (New-Asthel): 1,500 Krowns
  • Belerion Archipelago (Per-Bast): 1,500 Krowns

To set up a Travel Post, interact with the Travel Post NPC in the town. Once prompted, decide whether to invest the specified amount of Krowns to establish the post. If you’re not ready to commit, you can decline and return later when you’re financially prepared.

Are Wartales Travel Posts worthwhile?

Whether investing in a Travel Post is worthwhile depends on individual player preferences. Personally, I’ve found them to be immensely beneficial, especially if you have surplus funds. However, if resources are scarce, it might be prudent to postpone building one, considering other expensive endeavors such as training and upgrading Legendary Weapons. Here are the advantages of erecting a Travel Post:

  • Fast Travel: With two or more Travel Posts established, you can swiftly move between them. Note that food usage is still necessary, and you’ll miss out on camping benefits like Scholar, Happiness, and Training Post bonuses.
  • Chest: You can store excess gear and resources at each Travel Post, aiding inventory and weight management.
  • Garrison: Up to three Companions can be stationed at each Travel Post, ideal for situations where they’re not currently needed.

However, it’s essential to remember that items and companions stored at a Travel Post remain there and won’t be accessible elsewhere. This limitation diminishes as you upgrade the posts (discussed below).

Upgrading Travel Posts – Trade Routes in Wartales

Upon reaching level eight of the Trade and Craftsmanship Path, you’ll unlock access to the Pedlar’s Guild. A Pedlar’s Envoy will then offer to establish a Trade Route between two cities with Travel Posts you’ve built.

For 1,000 Influence and 1,500 Krowns, you can set up a Trade Route, reaping benefits such as:

  • Movement speed bonus: Enjoy a 20 percent speed boost on trade routes, reducing food consumption.
  • Reclaiming companions and items: Retrieve companions or items from any location on your trade route network for a fee of 50 Krowns per stack.
  • Access to the Pedlar: Pedlar NPCs at connected locations offer various resources for sale, including flowers, food, and components.
  • Suspicion bonus: Experience a 15 percent faster reduction in Suspicion while traveling between connected regions.

You can establish a new trade route each time you advance a level in the Trade and Craftsmanship Path, up to level 12. However, building a trade route to the Belerion Archipelago is currently unavailable, even if you have a Travel Post at Per-Bast.
