How to unlock the Grave News Investigation in Skull and Bones
To unlock the Grave News investigation in Skull and Bones, you must locate a message in a bottle out at sea. Players have reported finding this message at various locations, although it’s most commonly found near Laar.
Laar is situated in the Spice Islands, just south of Telok Penjarah, the second major pirate haven after Sainte-Anne. Unfortunately, the only way to obtain the message is by sailing around the island until you encounter it.
Since this occurrence is entirely random, don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t appear immediately. Once you retrieve the message, you can access your inventory and interact with the new item to initiate the investigation.
Where to Plunder Fort Premie
Now that you’ve found the message in a bottle near the Spice Islands, you need to complete two additional steps. First, you must Plunder Fort Premie. Located in the southern part of the East Indies, south of Telok Penjarah, Fort Premie serves as a Dutch stronghold.
To commence the Plunder, sail alongside Fort Premie and opt to interact with the military base. From there, you can choose to initiate a Plunder. Once your crew disembarks onto the shore, your objective is to dismantle the watchtower and maintain control of the area by repelling passing Dutch ships. These world events can pose a challenge, so it’s advisable to bring along companions. Finally, loot the treasure chest at the conclusion of the Plunder to obtain your next clue.
Where to find Carel’s Belongings
The final step of this mission is to visit The Necropolis and retrieve Carel’s belongings. The Necropolis is a port situated along the Naga Coast in the East Indies. It lies equidistant from both pirate hubs, allowing you to either traverse the Open Seas from Sainte-Anne or head south from Telok Penjarah.
While hostile pirates may lurk outside The Necropolis, once you reach land, you’ll encounter no further obstacles. Upon entering the dock, ascend to the top of the staircase directly ahead, where you’ll discover a treasure chest. For your investigative efforts, you’ll be rewarded with 300 Infamy and a Rugged Chest containing randomized contents.
