Persona 3 Reload: Minotaur II weakness

When you reach the Monad Passage on floor 171 in Persona 3 Reload, the Minotaur II awaits as your first opponent. Similar to its predecessor, this formidable foe poses a significant challenge, urging you to defeat it swiftly before it buffs itself and decimates your party.

Much like other Shadows encountered in the game, the Minotaur II possesses specific vulnerabilities that you should consider when forming your party. Not all types of attacks are effective against it, and selecting the right ones can make all the difference. Understanding how to overcome the Minotaur II is crucial for advancing further in Tartarus. Here’s what you need to know about its weaknesses in Persona 3 Reload.

What is the Minotaur II’s weakness in Persona 3 Reload?

I can confirm that the Minotaur II does not have any specific weaknesses in Persona 3 Reload. However, it reflects all Physical attacks, meaning that any Slashing, Striking, or Piercing damage you inflict will be redirected back at the attacker, leaving the Minotaur II unscathed.

One challenge of this encounter is that the Minotaur II inflicts the Rage status effect on your party members throughout the fight. While under the effect of Rage, your party members are unable to perform their assigned actions and instead resort to basic attacks against the Shadow, which are promptly reflected back at them. This can lead to a frustrating battle as you contend with removing the status effect and slowly whittling down the Minotaur II’s health, reminiscent of battles against the Vehement Idol or the Isolated Castle.

The only effective attacks against this Shadow are Magical ones. For this fight, I recommend using Ice and Electric attacks. Ice attacks have a chance of freezing the Minotaur II, providing an opportunity to mitigate its assaults or tend to your party’s wounds. Similarly, Electric attacks inflict the Shock status effect on the Minotaur II, disrupting its actions. Both options are viable, depending on your party composition.

For your main character, select a Persona that can either reflect or resist Physical attacks. Since the Minotaur II predominantly employs these attacks, having such protection can prevent your character from being knocked down. Even if they become enraged and their basic attacks are reflected, they will endure as long as they remain standing in Persona 3 Reload.
