The Umbrella proves to be a versatile tool in Nightingale, offering players a range of functions from providing shade to enabling gliding.
Upon obtaining my first Umbrella in Nightingale, I quickly grew fond of its gliding feature. Scaling tall mountains became effortless, with the Umbrella allowing for swift descents to the ground. You too will appreciate the benefits of this remarkable tool—here’s how to acquire it.
How to Obtain an Umbrella
You can acquire an Umbrella during Nightingale’s tutorial phase. In the third realm, the Swamp, ascend the nearby tall towers where chests await atop. One of these chests will contain the Umbrella.
If you’ve already completed the tutorial, there’s an alternative method to obtain an Umbrella; it’s available from the Essence Trader for 30 Essence Dust. Essence Dust is readily obtainable through gameplay, allowing you to purchase the Umbrella without hassle. In case you’re running short on credits, you can extract Essence Dust from items like plant fiber and stones.
How to Utilize an Umbrella
Press and hold Space or F while the Umbrella is in your offhand to activate it. When gliding, your airborne duration depends on your stamina bar. Thus, be cautious when leaping from great heights with limited stamina, as the Umbrella’s glide isn’t infinite.
Thanks to Nightingale’s procedural generation, you’ll frequently encounter towering hills ideal for gliding with your Umbrella. I recommend switching to third-person view while gliding for an enhanced perspective.
