How to solve Bastille of Insight challenges in Nightingale

The Bastille of Insight presents one of Nightingale’s many challenges. These structures can be found in any realm you explore, and unlocking more portals grants access to additional resources.

While the Bastille of Insight challenges may vary, they follow a consistent pattern, making them easier to solve once you understand how they work. Their difficulty depends on the realm level you’re exploring. Here’s what you need to know to conquer Bastille of Insight challenges in Nightingale.

How to complete Bastille of Insight challenges in Nightingale

The key to completing a Bastille of Insight challenge is to locate the small runes scattered throughout the rocks surrounding these locations in Nightingale. Red runes are engraved on the sides of the rocks near the obelisks, and you must interact with them to turn them blue. Activating all the hidden runes surrounding a Bastille of Insight is necessary for completion. I often encounter these while hunting wildlife for a Heartshot.

These red runes can be found all around the rocks within the Bastille of Insight. They emit a distinct glow, so they’re not difficult to spot. However, locating them on various stones can be challenging. I typically have to sweep the area multiple times and backtrack to find the last one.

Fortunately, the runes are confined to this area and are not hidden in remote locations or tucked beneath resources. You can determine how many runes you need to find based on the color of the pillars at the center. Additionally, there’s no specific order required for activation.

Once you’ve discovered all the runes, the shield containing the Hope Echo will lower, allowing you to claim the item. Rewards vary based on the realm’s difficulty, with common finds being new crafting items or Augments. After completing one Bastille of Insight, you’ll recognize the pattern for others in different worlds. In my experience, the pattern remains consistent, making these challenges straightforward once you’ve learned the pattern.
