How to reduce stuttering and input lag in FF7 Rebirth

I have a great fondness for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but unfortunately, my TV doesn’t share the sentiment. If you’re experiencing stuttering and input lag while playing the game, even in Performance Mode, here’s a proven fix you can attempt.

How to reduce lag in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

In FF7 Rebirth, lag issues typically stem from your display rather than your PS5 or Dualsense controller. The most effective solution I’ve discovered is to maintain a static resolution for my PS5.

To achieve this, navigate to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output. Change your Resolution setting from Automatic (the default) to the highest resolution supported by your TV. Personally, this adjustment resolved input lag in my gameplay, allowing me to execute timing-based minigames with precision.

If the above method doesn’t resolve the issue, scroll down the same menu and disable 120 Hz Output. Additionally, ensure that Performance Mode is enabled in FF7 Rebirth’s settings if you haven’t already done so.
