Nightingale becomes far more enjoyable when you’re accompanied by a party of fellow Realmwalkers. However, these companions don’t necessarily have to be friends in a co-op server; you can simply recruit Survivors. Typically, one or two Survivors can be found somewhere in a Realm. They’re often located near a Site of Power, where you unlock the Antiquarian Card. However, recruiting them isn’t as simple as walking up and asking. It requires a bit of effort.
Where To Find Survivors in Nightingale
You can usually find a Survivor wherever there’s a Site of Power. These are the large structures that you clear to unlock the Antiquarian Card after defeating a boss. Often, you’ll need the Survivor’s assistance to navigate through the Site, given the numerous enemies that spawn within.
Outside the Site of Power, you’ll encounter the Survivor, along with someone offering a quest to assist the Survivor, and an Essence Trader.
How To Recruit a Survivor
Upon arriving at the Site of Power and conversing with the Survivors nearby, you’ll discover that one of them requires help setting up camp. This entails gathering the resources needed to establish a small base for them. In my experience, this involved crafting a Campfire and three Bedrolls.
Once everything is crafted, you’ll gain access to the nearby Magic Chest and the ability to recruit one of the Survivors. Simply approach the Survivor, engage in conversation, and select the Recruit option. From then on, you can provide them with items, manage their inventory, and bring them along on your adventures.
