How To Level Up Fast in Last Epoch

While the journey to high-level in Last Epoch offers more excitement and variety compared to typical action RPGs, the game’s essence lies in its endgame content. Therefore, reaching the endgame should be the primary objective for every character. If you wish to explore what Last Epoch offers beyond its campaign, mastering fast leveling techniques is essential. We’ve outlined several strategies and methods for you.

Play the Campaign Up to a Certain Point

Unfortunately, there’s no ‘skip campaign’ option available. However, you gain access to your most enjoyable skills during leveling. You don’t necessarily have to complete the campaign.

You can progress through the main quest until you’ve obtained all your Passive Point rewards and Idol slots. The game conveniently highlights this through a checklist displayed when you open the map. Refer to the image above for guidance. You only need to complete up to Chapter 7 to acquire all Passives and Idol slots.

Boost Your Movement Speed

Increasing Movement Speed is an effective way to navigate the Arena swiftly. This stat isn’t limited to boots; it can also be found on gloves or rings.

During the campaign, utilize the loot filter to identify items that provide Movement Speed. Refer to our guide on how to use the Last Epoch Loot Filter.

Leverage Traversal Skills

Traversal Skills offer even faster movement options than Movement Speed alone. Some Skills enable you to cover distances quickly, although certain ones require enemy targeting, resulting in slower movement when enemies are absent.

We recommend utilizing the following Traversal Skills for speedrunning based on your class:

  • Sentinel
  • Shield Rush
  • Smite with the Descend node
  • Rogue
  • Mage
  • Primalist
  • Acolyte

Most of these Skills have cooldowns or high Mana costs, so use them judiciously. While they may not directly increase XP gains, they facilitate map traversal and engagement with enemy mobs, aiding in fast leveling in Last Epoch.

Ask a Friend to Take You to the Arena

The Arena serves as an endgame activity in Last Epoch, starting at level 60. However, you can access it as soon as you acquire Arena Keys (right-click the key to enter the Arena). It’s a wave-based mission; if you find it challenging, enlist the help of a higher-level friend.

This method resembles the Arena approach, but you may not require a friend to accompany you. With keys and adequate gear, easily obtainable if you’re leveling an alt character and utilizing the shared stash, you’re prepared to embark on this endeavor independently.

Play Dungeons Earlier

Dungeons allow you to bypass the campaign at their lowest levels. While their highest tiers are designed for endgame content, possessing a key enables you to access the lowest tier of a Dungeon (right-click the key to enter the Dungeon).

This method shares similarities with the Arena approach. Sometimes, you may not require a friend as a protector. All you need are keys and decent gear, readily available if you’re leveling an alt character and utilizing the shared stash.

Start Monolith of Fate Early

Utilize shared stashes to your advantage long before reaching Level 55, the intended starting level for Monoliths, an endgame activity. Some Unique or Set items, and even Rare items, boast considerable power relative to their low-level requirements.

Once you unlock the End of Time area around level 20+, access the Monoliths of Fate (located to the right of the End of Time area). Experiment with Monoliths at lower levels using advanced gear to assess your capability to handle them.

However, this method is suitable only if you’ve already completed the game once and have a character reaching Level 70 or 80. It’s not ideal for new players, but it’s beneficial for testing other characters or builds or for quick leveling in Last Epoch.

You Can Also Ask a Friend to Take You to Their Monolith

This approach mirrors the Arena method, allowing party members to teleport to one another’s areas and activities. Choose a party member with access to Monoliths and a high level (level 60+).

You’ll benefit from party XP while near them; simply focus on staying alive and keeping pace with their speed. This requires the involvement of other players, so cultivate friendships — communication isn’t necessary; occasional gifting of blue items suffices as a gesture of goodwill.
