How To Get Wicked Implement in Destiny 2

The Wicked Implement is an exotic scout rifle in Destiny 2 that’s somewhat challenging to obtain. It was introduced during the Season of the Deep, themed around the sea, as part of the Lightfall expansion. Although it’s available now, the coveted rifle was only added after mid-season. Thankfully, we can provide you with all the details on acquiring this exceptional weapon. Here’s everything you need to know about the Wicked Implement in Destiny 2 and how to obtain it.

Guide to Acquire Wicked Implement

Getting the Wicked Implement weapon involves a lengthy process, but we’ll simplify it into easy steps.

Fishing for Exotic Fish – Begin by catching exotic fish. Start with Whispering Mothcarp in the Throne World, followed by Vexing Placoderm on Nessus, and finally, Aeonian Alpha-Betta in the EDZ. Once you have each exotic fish, deposit them into the aquarium at the Helm. This action will reward you with a Broken Blade Quest item for each fish. You can track your progress by accessing your fishing tackle box in your inventory.

Depositing Blades – After obtaining all three broken blades, proceed to a Deep Dives seasonal activity. Interact with three Hive statues to deposit the broken blades. Only one person in your fireteam needs to deposit the broken blades to activate the quest. Therefore, if you join a fireteam with someone who already has all the exotic fish, you don’t need to obtain them yourself. Upon completing the quest, you’ll still receive the weapon. Deposit the first blade into the statue just before the first encounter, the second after the first encounter in the same room, and the third between the first and second encounters.

The Whetstone Encounter – After placing all three blades, a new door will unlock. You or your team must reactivate the statues in the room with the inscription “Path of violence.”

Fight the First Boss – Traverse the underwater sections, battling Taken enemies and the first boss. You can only damage it after killing three yellow-bar minotaurs to acquire a buff, enabling you to damage the Taken Knight severely. Be prepared with your strategy as the fight has a 10-minute timer.

Second Boss Fight – The Tormentor boss will chase you through a maze-like environment. Defeat the three minotaurs to gather the “Deathly Sharp” buff, granting you a minute to damage the boss.

Upon defeating the second boss, you can claim the power from the Winnower statue to obtain the Wicked Implement.

Destiny 2 Wicked Implement Catalyst

While acquiring the Wicked Implement exotic scout rifle is impressive, obtaining its catalyst is the icing on the cake. The catalyst increases your weapon magazine capacity when you collect Stasis shards. Unfortunately, the catalyst drops randomly in the Deep Dive missions.

Wicked Implement Perks in Destiny 2

Exotic Intrinsic Perk: Creeping Attrition — Slows targets by landing rapid precision hits. Exotic Traits — While the Creeping Attrition perk is active, landing precision final blows creates a Stasis shard that returns to you. Collecting Stasis shards refills the magazine. Exotic Catalyst — Gradual magazine overflow after collecting Stasis shards.

That covers everything you need to know about the new exotic scout rifle, Wicked Implement, in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows platforms.
