Once you grasp the source of Paper, crafting it becomes straightforward and effortless. Here’s how to obtain Paper in Nightingale.
How to craft Paper in Nightingale
Paper in Nightingale is not discovered but crafted. While it can be purchased from an Essence Trader, the crafting process is so simple that buying it would be unnecessary.
The primary challenge in crafting Paper lies in unlocking and constructing the required workstation, namely the Simple Saw Table. Unlike some recipes, the Saw Table recipe isn’t unlocked through natural progression; it must be purchased from an Essence Trader for 55 Essence. However, the Essence Trader only offers this recipe once you’ve unlocked the Antiquarian Card.
Once you’ve addressed that, crafting a Simple Saw Table requires:
- Eight Wood Bundle
- Four Stone Block
- Four Animal Fibre
Both Wood Bundles and Stone Blocks are sourced directly from resource deposits, while Animal Fibre is crafted at a Simple Tanning Station using Meat. Upon creating a Simple Saw Table, the Paper recipe is automatically unlocked, requiring only two Wood Bundles to craft.
How to use Paper in Nightingale
Paper serves as a crucial component alongside Ink in crafting new Realm Cards. To progress beyond the initial Realm, where Puck prompts you to imagine, crafting a Forest Card and an Antiquarian Card is necessary (at least based on my experience; I’m unsure if the Biome Card depends on your initial choice).
Both types of Cards require Paper for crafting, as do subsequent Cards. This isn’t limited to Realm Cards but also includes Minor Cards, implying that you’ll be crafting Cards not only for Realm-walking but also for power-ups. Paper holds immense value in Nightingale, so it’s advisable to begin gathering resources sooner rather than later.
