How to unlock the Laboratory in Skull and Bones
The Helm represents the smuggling aspect of the game, accessible after reaching a certain Infamy rank and progressing through Spurlock’s main questline. Upon meeting Yanita at Le Mont Muet in Sainte-Anne, you’ll be introduced to the smuggling mechanics: gather materials from the Supply Network, craft them into Helm Wares, and deliver them to buyers.
After proving your capabilities with a few rum deliveries, Yanita will send you eastward to Houma Nara at the Telok Penjarah den in the East Indies. There, you’ll be granted access to the Laboratory, where you can begin crafting Blue Lotus Opium.
How to get Poppy and make Blue Lotus Opium in Skull and Bones
At the Supply Network station in the Smuggler’s Hideout in Telok Penjarah, you’ll have two options to obtain Poppy. You can purchase a small amount of Poppy with Silver and then retrieve it yourself, or you can engage in more risky but rewarding activities such as attacking ships or forts carrying Poppy.
Attacking ships yields Poppy without spending Silver, along with potential Infamy and loot. Raiding a fort provides a substantial amount of Poppy at once but is considerably challenging, often requiring cooperation with other captains.
Once you’ve obtained Poppy, deliver it to the Laboratory at the Smuggler’s Hideout. For a nominal fee, the workers will craft Blue Lotus Opium, with each unit taking 15 seconds to produce.
