How to enter and exit Ansur’s Lair in the Wyrmway

Whether you’re on a Companion Quest for Wyll or navigating Act 3’s map, uncovering the entrance to Ansur’s Lair can prove to be quite a challenge. Tucked away amidst Wyrmway’s secrets, this hidden gem unveils a whole new dimension within Baldur’s Gate 3. Guiding you through a concealed entryway, we’re here to illuminate the path to Ansur’s Lair.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Ansur’s Lair location

As you delve deeper into Act 3’s map, make your way to Wrym’s Rock Fortress located at the coordinates ‘X:1, Y:199’. Ensure that you have a character equipped with a Lightning damage spell, as it will be essential later on. Enter the door on the left side within the room housing the Ancient Sigil Circle waypoint.

Beside the tank-like Steel Watcher, you’ll find a hidden set of stairs. Interact with them to access the ‘Passageway’ entrance, leading you to Wrym’s Rock Prison. However, be warned, trespassing in this prison will lock the door ahead, guarded by a sleeping sentinel.

You have the option to intimidate or persuade the guard, Breva Brightmoon, into unlocking the door. I found that choosing the ‘Prison inspection’ dialogue option yielded the best results, avoiding any unnecessary combat. While it may require a few retries, don’t hesitate to save scum if needed.

Once Breva grants access, you’ll come across a crossroads. Take a left turn to find the entrance to Ansur’s Lair in the Wyrmway. This is where your Lightning spell becomes crucial. Utilize your spellcaster to strike the two Dragon Head Torches with Lightning, revealing a hidden entrance between them. Climb over the crate to reach it.

Follow the path ahead until you encounter an Iron Gate, marking the passage to Ansur’s Lair in Baldur’s Gate 3. Engage with the Statue of Balduran to unlock the door ahead and explore the surroundings. Additionally, take a moment to inspect the murals, offering insights into the area.

To depart from Ansur’s Lair, you’ll need to navigate through the Chamber of Justice, Courage, Strategy, and Insight. Be prepared for extensive puzzle-solving endeavors before proceeding further.
