How to Easily Solve The Open Hand Temple Murders In BG3

Alright, my fellow adventurers, Act 3 in Baldur’s Gate 3 is like a murder mystery on steroids, and everyone’s pointing fingers like it’s going out of style. From the get-go, the tension’s through the roof – a city on the verge of chaos, a robotic police force breathing down everyone’s necks, and a religious leader, Father Lorgan, murdered in what looks like a messed-up murder-suicide by a refugee he was sheltering. Welcome to Act 3!

So, you roll into Act 3, hit the city of Rivington, and bam, you spot the Open Hand Temple, where things are anything but chill. The leader’s dead, the temple’s closed to refugees, and Brilgor, one of the sheltered folks, is accused of offing Father Lorgan. Chat with the locals, and opinions are all over the place. Enter Sister Yannis, stirring the pot, tasking you with cracking the case. The investigator, a Hollyphant named Valeria, is convinced Brilgor’s the culprit.

How To Solve the Open Hand Temple Murders In Baldur’s Gate 3

Now, Sister Yannis drops some leads, and you’ve got freedom to choose your investigatory path. I’ll walk you through one slick route, starting with poking around Father Lorgan’s room in the temple.

Unfortunately, the dead priest won’t spill the beans unless you think outside the box. Use that “speak with the dead” ability on him, and he spills the beans – Brilgor’s innocent, and a “dwarf dressed in red” did the dirty work.

Don’t ditch the death-speaker just yet. Head to the kitchen, skip Sister Yannis’ hatch for now, and explore the graveyard. Dig up Brilgor’s coffin, smack it around a bit, and let your death-whisperer extract more info.

With the dirt on the table, hit the hatch Sister Yannis mentioned. In the temple’s cellar, spot the “heraldic sign” next to statues. Push buttons, open secret wall, ta-da! Murder scene time.

Guess what? Combat’s inevitable. Prep your squad, kick butt, and loot the fallen. Oh, and don’t forget Dribbles the Clown – important for another quest.

The flower key’s a game-changer. Search a nearby inn, Fraygo’s Flophouse, past the South Span Checkpoint. Tussle with guards or sweet-talk your way through; your call. Upstairs at the Flophouse, use the flower key on a secret wardrobe in the attic.

Behold! A journal spills the beans – it’s a Bhaalist plot, and there’s a hit list. Things just got spicy.

Where To Find Investigator Valeria In Baldur’s Gate 3

Armed with proof that Brilgor’s innocent and it’s a Bhaalist serial murder plot, it’s Valeria time. She’s chilling across from the Flophouse on the second floor of Sharess’ Caress.

If Valeria’s MIA, you might’ve fast-tracked the main plot. Find her later; she’s not gone for good. Share your findings, wrap up the Open Hand Temple Murders, and brace yourself for more Bhaalist cult drama.
