How To Deconstruct in Nightingale

Similar to other survival games, establishing a base is crucial for surviving the unforgiving wilderness of the Fae realms in Nightingale. Once you’ve set up the Estate Cairns, you have the freedom to construct various structures in your camp. However, you might find yourself wanting to change the placement of buildings and tools as you progress. That’s where this guide comes in handy, explaining how you can deconstruct and relocate structures in Nightingale.

Nightingale Deconstructing and Moving Structures Guide

Although Nightingale lacks a robust feature for splitting stacks, it does allow you to deconstruct or move any structures in your camp. To remove a partially built building, simply access the radial menu by holding E on the keyboard or X on the controller.

Alternatively, there are two methods for deconstructing existing structures. One way is to use a tool and dismantle it by depleting its HP. While any tool can be used, the Axe or Pickaxe is commonly preferred.

Keep in mind that the health of each structure varies, so deconstructing walls in Nightingale may take some time. Ensure you monitor your gear’s durability and repair it before it breaks.

The correct method for deconstructing and relocating structures in Nightingale is through the Building Menu, accessible by pressing X on the keyboard or the down button on the controller.

Within the Building Menu, you can use the following buttons to manipulate structures in Nightingale:

  • Copy – Duplicate a structure – Q (Keyboard) or Y (Controller)
  • Move – Adjust the position of a structure – R (Keyboard) or LB (Controller)
  • Remove – Deconstruct a structure – V (Keyboard) or Right stick (Controller)

The tutorial section of the game introduces you to the Building Menu. However, it’s easy to forget, as I did, and only remembered after four hours of gameplay.

When you deconstruct a structure in Nightingale, you regain your materials, preventing wastage of valuable resources like Ores. Once you’ve finished your renovations, simply exit the Building Menu by pressing the same button.
