How to charge Meta Quest controllers

Transitioning to wireless functionality is essential for VR headsets, eliminating pesky cables that disrupt the immersive virtual experience. However, the convenience of wireless technology presents a challenge when it’s time to recharge your Meta Quest controllers using the docking station.

For Quest and Quest 2 users, replacing the two double-A batteries inside each controller suffices. Conversely, Meta Quest 3 or Pro owners rely on the charging dock to replenish controller power.

To charge your Meta Quest controllers with the charging dock, ensure the dock is powered by connecting it to an outlet. On the dock’s front, you’ll find two ports, each with three silver pins. These pins align with the corresponding pins on your controllers.

Carefully align the pins on the controller with those on the charging dock and gently bring them together. You’ll feel a haptic response from the controller, accompanied by a small orange light on the handsets. Once fully charged, the controllers display a solid green light. A red light indicates the controller has less than three percent battery life remaining.
