As one of Sony’s leading games-as-a-service titles, it’s expected that Helldivers 2 would include its own integrated battle pass or season pass system. This is where the game’s Premium Warbond feature comes into play, but figuring out how to purchase it might not be immediately apparent.
It’s worth noting that while Helldivers 2 offers separate customization options for purchase (which are priced more affordably than industry standards), the main progression feature revolves around its Warbond. Both the standard and Premium Warbond versions offer a plethora of weapons, cosmetics, and Super Credits (the premium currency), making additional purchases optional.
However, if you’re looking to access an even wider array of goodies beyond the initial offerings, the Premium Warbond is the way to go, and there are some details about it that you should be aware of.
Helldivers 2’s Premium Warbond explained
You cannot directly purchase the Premium Warbond within or outside of Helldivers 2. Instead, the option becomes available only after you’ve accumulated enough Super Credits in your inventory – precisely 1,000 of them, which is roughly equivalent to $10 or your local currency. It’s entirely possible to earn enough Super Credits through regular gameplay without spending any money.
Once you’ve amassed 1,000 Super Credits, navigate to the game’s Requisition menu and locate the ‘Steeled Veterans’ Premium Warbond banner. It should be prominently displayed in the first Requisition UI. From there, look to the lower right corner of the screen, where the option to purchase the Premium Warbond will appear, granting access to Helldivers 2’s initial battle pass.
Helldivers 2: Steeled Veterans Premium Warbond shouldn’t be leaving the game anytime soon
An important aspect to note about Helldivers 2’s Warbonds is their apparent permanence in the game’s content lineup. Players will retain access to previous Warbonds even as new ones are introduced, mitigating the fear of missing out that often accompanies modern games-as-a-service. However, it’s worth mentioning that the current Steeled Veterans gear may not be as impressive as the baseline offerings. The weapons featured in this Warbond are enhanced versions of basic firearms with the ability to stun smaller enemies and deal explosive damage with a slight adjustment.
Rather than prioritizing the unlocking of Steeled Veterans weapons, the community currently suggests focusing on unlocking items from the basic Warbond, as it includes genuinely useful tools and weapons. As of now, the Premium option primarily serves as a source of cosmetics, though there’s a possibility that the developer may enhance the Steeled Veterans gear in the future.
