Enshrouded | How to get Nitrate

With substantial crafting woven into this survival game, certain recipes require considerable effort to unlock and obtain. Here’s a guide on acquiring Nitrate in Enshrouded.

Enshrouded: How to get Nitrate

Obtaining Nitrate in Enshrouded involves delving into explosive crafting, as it serves as an alchemical acid for creating explosive substances throughout your journey in Embervale. If you’re at the beginning of your adventure, crafting this material might not be an immediate need or within your means.

To access Nitrate crafting, you must first unlock the Alchemist and subsequently the Alchemist Lab. However, this progression occurs later in the game when you venture into the Nomad Highlands. If you’ve only unlocked the Blacksmith or Hunter, there’s a considerable journey ahead. Follow the main missions until you reach the point of unlocking the lab.

As you explore deeper into Enshrouded, discovering new areas introduces more rare resources for collection. This is why uncovering Nitrate takes time, as the resources constituting it are not available in the starting areas. Nevertheless, to prepare for its crafting or when you’re ready, here are the materials needed and where to find them.

Nitrate Recipe in Enshrouded

  • Sand: A late-game material found in the Kindlewastes region.
  • Salt: Mined from Salt Mines. Visit Egerton Mine Salts, a mine west of the Springlands Ancient Spire.
  • Wood Acid: Craftable at the Charcoal Kiln, one of the Blacksmith’s structures. Requires 15 Wood Logs and 3 Dirt, obtainable by chopping wood and using a pickaxe on the ground.
  • Alchemical Base: Crafted at the Alchemy Station, requiring 1 Mycelium (found in Elixir Wells and shrouded areas), 1 Shroud Liquid (interact with big mushrooms in shrouded areas), 1 Water (scoop from Wells), and 1 Shroud Spore (kill enemies in shrouded areas).

Completing all Alchemist quests is necessary to unlock the Alchemist Laboratory. Exercise patience, and soon you’ll have Nitrate at your disposal, though be cautious of its explosive nature.
