Best Scout build in Deep Rock Galactic

The Scout class is your starting point in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, offering enough strength to combat the formidable bugs. Crafting the optimal Scout build might not be immediately obvious, especially for newcomers, so here’s some guidance.

Best Scout build in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

Before delving into the details of the best Scout build, let’s review its base statistics. As per the official description, the Scout provides the following advantages:

  • Max HP: 120
  • Dodge: Five percent
  • Critical chance: Five percent
  • Critical damage: 200 percent

Besides boasting exceptional mobility, the Scout possesses the highest critical damage percentage among all Deep Rock Galactic Survivor classes. However, it also has the lowest health compared to its counterparts. Considering these strengths and weaknesses, I present the ideal Scout build for your consideration:

Primary Weapon: Deepcore GK2Secondary Weapon: M1000 ClassicWeapon Choice Three: Voltaic Stun SweeperWeapon Choice Four: TH-OR Bug Taser

The Deepcore GK2, the default Scout weapon, remains remarkably reliable even in high-hazard zones. Pair it with the M1000 Classic, a lethal shotgun for close encounters, for a formidable combination. For accessories, the Stun Sweeper and Bug Taser offer optimal choices for the Scout.

While the mentioned build provides a balanced loadout choice for the Scout class in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, stronger weapons become available as you progress to higher difficulty levels.

The DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine (unlocked at round level 21) and Nishanka Boltshark X-80 (unlocked at round level 24) are particularly potent weapons that should be seized if the opportunity arises.

Best perks for the Scout class in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

The Scout class emphasizes movement speed and high critical damage, although base stats can be further augmented. With each level gained in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, you’ll receive a random perk choice to enhance one of your attributes. Not all perks, however, offer equal value. Here are the top selections:

  • Fast Little Legs: Increases movement speed
  • Dwarven Heritage: Increases mining speed
  • Mind Blowing: Increases critical damage
  • Extra Rations: Increases max HP
  • Careful Aim: Increases critical chance

Given the Scout’s lower maximum HP compared to other Deep Rock Galactic Survivor classes, prioritize health boosts. Additionally, focus on enhancing movement speed, mining speed, and critical damage. Avoid investing in reload speed or fire rate, as they are less valuable than improvements to mining or movement speed.

Regarding weapon overclocks, concentrate on leveling up your weapons, unlocking at levels six, 12, and 18 when you choose between two overclock options.

A Little More Oomph remains my favored overclock for both the Deepcore GK2 and M1000 Classic, offering a balanced boost to damage and reload speed without drawbacks.

Battery Bullets and Big Game Hunter are also commendable overclock options. Big Game Hunter proves useful if you’re tired of your weapons targeting the closest enemy instead of focusing on bosses, while Battery Bullets alter the weapon’s damage type to electrical, enhancing its effectiveness against adversaries.
