Once you acquire the Simple Workbench, crafting the Simple Slingbow becomes one of your earliest tasks in Nightingale. However, this weapon requires its own ammunition, which may initially seem confusing to obtain but is actually quite straightforward.
Where to Find Slingbow Ammo
You can craft slingbow ammunition directly on the Simple Workbench. Just above the recipe for the Simple Slingbow, you’ll find the recipe for Simple Rock Marbles, which only requires 6 Rocks to craft. These marbles serve as your slingbow ammo, so craft a few to stock up.
Rocks are abundant across various Realms, easily found through exploration regardless of your starting point. It’s important to note that you need Rocks specifically, not the Stone Blocks obtained from using the Mining Pick. While Stone Blocks are useful for other recipes, they cannot be used as ammunition for your weapons.
Rock Marbles are the simplest ammunition available, yet surprisingly effective given their ease of crafting. They are automatically consumed from your inventory when you fire your Slingbow, requiring no additional equipment.
The Slingbow is among the earliest recipes unlocked at the Workbench, making it a priority to craft as it provides your initial ranged hunting option. In many realms, you’ll encounter creatures that can easily outpace you, making food procurement challenging. The Slingbow addresses this while also serving as a reliable means of self-defense.
Simply gather rocks whenever you need additional ammunition. They’re typically easier to find than Plant Fiber early in the game, ensuring you won’t encounter much difficulty obtaining them. Consider collecting extra rocks to use in other recipes as well!
