Fortunately, addressing this error in Nightingale appears to be relatively straightforward compared to others. The error message typically indicates connectivity issues, presenting a few potential reasons for its occurrence.
How to resolve the “Login failed. A network error has occurred” error in Nightingale
If you encounter this error, it signifies that your PC is unable to establish a proper connection with Nightingale’s servers. While this doesn’t necessarily indicate a broader connectivity problem, it’s prudent to confirm your PC’s internet connection status as the initial troubleshooting step.
Check your internet connection
Conducting this check is simple—if you’re reading this article on your PC, it’s connected to the internet. If not, ensure your PC is connected by performing a quick internet connectivity check, perhaps through a simple Google search on another device.
Inflexion Studios also advises verifying that your download speed is at least five megabits per second, although such low speeds are uncommon among service providers.
Ensure Nightingale has network access permissions
While your PC may have a stable internet connection, Nightingale may not automatically have the necessary network permissions. Windows Firewall or a VPN could be blocking the game’s access to the network.
To address this, run Nightingale as Administrator. Unlike conventional .exe files, the desktop shortcut from Steam merely launches the game through Steam. Therefore, running Steam as Administrator grants the necessary privileges to any game launched through it, including Nightingale.
If running Nightingale as Administrator fails to resolve the error, you have two options:
- Temporarily disable Windows Firewall via your PC’s control panel for further clarification, ensuring to re-enable it afterward.
- Proceed to explore other solutions if running Steam as an Administrator or disabling Firewall does not resolve the issue.
- While there’s no apparent reason why disabling Firewall would differ from running Steam as Administrator in resolving the issue, double-checking offers peace of mind.

- Right-click on Nightingale in your Steam Library.
- Choose Properties>Installed Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files.

Updating graphics drivers varies based on your GPU manufacturer. Both AMD and Nvidia offer their own GPU software applications (AMD Adrenaline and Geforce Now) for simplifying driver updates.
