In Nightingale, not every building you place will end up in the perfect spot. Sometimes, you might realize it’s in the wrong location or want to rearrange everything for better cohesion.
When I first established my base, I encountered this issue and found myself puzzled about how to dismantle structures. Fortunately, there are efficient methods available to reorganize your base and ensure everything aligns with your vision. Here’s how you can remove placed structures in Nightingale.
How to remove your placed structures
There are two methods to remove a placed structure in Nightingale, with one being more forceful than the other.
The first method applies when the structure is still in its outline form, awaiting resources. The second method is for fully constructed structures that need to be dismantled to make room for others.
Delete a structure before it’s done
For structures in their outline form, approach them and locate the menu where you provide the required resources. The placement of this icon may vary, especially for larger structures.
To initiate deconstruction, instead of adding resources, press and hold the E button on your keyboard. This action brings up a new menu, offering the option to deconstruct the structure.
Once deconstructed, the highlighted outline disappears, allowing you to relocate the structure. Ignoring the highlight might result in a visual discrepancy, especially in multiplayer games.
Delete a structure after it’s been built
The second method involves simply destroying a fully constructed structure. Use your axe to chop away at it until a health bar appears. When the bar reaches zero, the structure is destroyed, and the resources drop to the ground.
Fortunately, this method preserves the resources, facilitating the relocation of workbenches or chests within your Nightingale camp.
