Nightingale | How to Enable Arachnophobia Mode

Recognizing the challenges that gamers with phobias face, many recent games, including Nightingale, offer features like Arachnophobia mode to make gameplay more comfortable for them. Here’s how to activate it:

How to Activate Arachnophobia Mode

Arachnophobia mode is readily accessible to players right from the start of the game. Simply press Tab to open the menu, navigate to the Settings tab, select Video, and check the box labeled Enable Arachnophobia Mode. Finally, apply your changes. That’s all there is to it!

Once activated, any spider-like enemies will appear as comically exaggerated balloons with wings, resembling giant bees rather than actual spiders, while still being easily identifiable. Here’s how they will appear in-game:

Fortunately, the likelihood of encountering spiders early in the game, before you have the chance to enable this mode, is quite low. There are no spiders in the initial tutorial sections, and these enemies are typically encountered in later stages of the game. So, there’s no need to worry about unexpected encounters with those eight-legged creatures.

Even if you don’t have a particular fear of spiders, you can enable this mode just for fun. These whimsical balloons may bring a smile to your face occasionally, while still serving as a clear indicator of potential danger, especially if you’re ill-equipped at the moment.

Nightingale is currently available on Early Access for PC, accessible via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Some players have reported encountering DirectX12 issues when logging into the game, but there are workarounds available. Additionally, ensure that you’re running the game on the best graphical settings for the optimal survival experience.
