How to make Detective in Infinite Craft

I’ll be straight with you: Recently, I’ve been binge-watching a ton of True Detective, and it got me thinking about recreating the show in Infinite Craft. Specifically, I aimed to replicate season one, set in Louisiana.

My approach was somewhat unconventional—I attempted to reverse-engineer a concoction of various US states and geographical terms to uncover Louisiana. Instead, I stumbled upon New Orleans (close enough). Then, I experimented with combinations like Pipe, Smoking, and Pencil, hoping to evoke Sherlock Holmes. This eventually led to the creation of a Detective, although I’m still striving to seamlessly integrate True Detective season one into the algorithm.

We came remarkably close, to be frank. However, instead of stumbling upon True Detective in Infinite Craft, I inadvertently birthed a new show called CSI: Circus, marking an unexpected “first discovery.” While I’m unsure of its significance in a game with infinite possibilities, I consider it a badge of honor.

Since even I can’t quite explain how I stumbled upon a new CSI spin-off, I’ll elucidate on how to craft a Detective in Infinite Craft, which is likely what you’re here for, anyway.

How to make a Detective, Sherlock Holmes, and Watson in Infinite Craft

To fashion a Detective in Infinite Craft, I focused on key elements like Tobacco, Pencil, and Pipe—staple props in nearly every detective narrative. These terms were derived from basic ingredients like Tree, Plant, and Ash. By tinkering with these fundamentals, I eventually combined Tobacco and Lake to yield a Pipe, and from there, I made significant progress.

Below is the comprehensive list of ingredients I merged in Infinite Craft to ultimately unlock Detective, alongside other notable discoveries.

  • Earth + Plant = Tree
  • Tree + Fire = Ash
  • Ash + Tree = Pencil
  • Ash + Plant = Tobacco
  • Tobacco + Lake = Pipe
  • Tree + Pencil = Paper
  • Pipe + Pencil = Sherlock
  • Ash + Sherlock = Holmes
  • Sherlock + Holmes = Watson
  • Sherlock + Pipe = Smoke
  • Sherlock + Pencil = Detective

Things took an unexpected turn from here. Remember my endeavor in New Orleans for a related project? I stumbled upon some Swamp-related terms like Alligator and Bog. Surprisingly, combining Alligator and Watson yielded Crocodile Hunter (oddly logical), and further combining Crocodile Hunter and Detective birthed Steve Irwin.
