How to save the Dazed Woman in the Pod in Baldur’s Gate 3 Prologue
Upon entering the room east of where you find Shadowheart trapped in a Pod, you encounter another woman, referred to as the Dazed Woman in this guide, also confined in a Pod. Unfortunately, based on personal experience and extensive online research, it appears that there is no way to save the Dazed Woman.
Regardless of your class, Arcane check, or character, there are no available options to rescue the Dazed Woman. Players have tested various classes and dialogue options in hopes of finding a solution, but to no avail. Even with a successful Arcane check, interacting with the Sigil above the button provides additional information but does not unlock a saving option for the Dazed Woman.
Activating the button on the console at the rear of the room results in the transformation of the Dazed Woman into a Mindflayer. Unfortunately, her fate is sealed, and she cannot be saved. Moreover, she does not impact the storyline and does not reappear beyond the Prologue. Her presence serves to underscore the consequential nature of your choices in the game.
How to save Shadowheart in the red energy Pod in Baldur’s Gate 3
If you’re seeking assistance in freeing the other woman trapped in a Pod, known as Shadowheart, you’re in luck. Unlike the situation with the Dazed Woman, you can rescue Shadowheart in BG3. Here’s how:
- Enter the room to the east.
- Retrieve the Eldritch Rune from the Dead Thrall at the rear of the room.
- Return to Shadowheart’s Pod.
- Interact with the console to the right of Shadowheart’s Pod.
- Choose “Insert the rune into the socket.”
- Choose “Place your hand on the console.”
- Opt for “Will the pod open.”
- With a successful roll, you’ll release Shadowheart.
Freeing Shadowheart aids you in the upcoming battle and sets the stage for a potential romance. If you opt not to free her, she will eventually be located on the beach like the other Origin characters. Ensure you complete the BG3 Act 1 checklist before progressing to Act 2.
