Sons of the Forest: How Do You Obtain an Energy Supply?
To establish electricity within your base, you must first gather specific items to sustain your energy supply. Always scavenge through crates found in bunkers, camps, plane wrecks, or cannibal settlements. The required materials include:
- Solar Panels: These are vital components as they generate the energy needed for electricity. Additionally, they can store a certain amount of electricity.
- Golf Cart Batteries: Functioning as energy storage units, these batteries power the circuits. They are particularly useful during nighttime or if solar panels deplete.
- Wires: Easily accessible, wires are essential for constructing electrical circuits in Sons of the Forest. Keep an eye out for wire bundles or loose cables scattered around.

How Do Electrical Circuits Work?
- Build a structure: Construct a basic frame using logs and place planks on the roof to serve as the solar panel’s base. Alternatively, if your base already features an angled roof, you can install solar panels there despite the inclination.
- Place the solar panel: Follow the arrows on each log to position the wire and connect it to the solar panel or golf cart batteries. You can also wrap wire around your fences to create electric fences. Ensure the panels are in an area devoid of shade.
- Place the light bulbs: Position the light bulbs on the wire, already connected, near the areas requiring illumination. Multiple bulbs can be placed on the same electrical circuit.
