Helldivers 2 | How to report or block players

The developers of Helldivers 2 recently stated their decision not to include PvP in the game to minimize potential toxicity. Nonetheless, encountering toxic players in multiplayer games remains challenging.

In recent gaming sessions, I’ve encountered instances of being targeted by treacherous Helldivers upon landing, and it’s likely that every player has faced similar experiences, such as teammates misusing orbital strike beacons.

Addressing toxic behavior is crucial in any game, including Helldivers 2. If you encounter such behavior and wish to report or block players, here’s how:

How can I report or block players in Helldivers 2?

You can block and/or report players you’ve recently played with from the Recent Players section of the social tab.

On your ship, press O to access the social tab, then navigate to Recent Players. Here, you’ll find the eight most recent players you teamed up with, along with a timestamp indicating when the mission ended or when they left the party.

By blocking players, they’ll be removed from your Recent Players list, and they won’t be able to join any party you host, or vice versa. While theoretically, they should appear in the Blocked Players list, it may take some time for their names to show up.

Currently, the report option only allows reporting players who have used the in-game chat box, so reporting for teamkilling or toxic voice communications isn’t possible yet. However, a more comprehensive reporting feature may be added in the future. In the meantime, you can at least block and avoid teammates who sabotage the team.

Given the chaos of combat, especially at higher difficulties, some incidental friendly fire is expected. Therefore, reserve the block option for players who are clearly acting maliciously.
