In Sons of the Forest, obtaining a Shovel might seem straightforward, but it actually requires some effort and exploration, much like acquiring other essential items such as the Rope Gun and the Cross. To secure the Shovel, you must venture into caves, which are notoriously perilous due to the presence of cannibals, mutants, and hazardous terrain.
Where to Get a Shovel in Sons of the Forest
Before embarking on your quest, ensure you equip yourself adequately to navigate the treacherous caves. To access the Shovel Cave, you must possess the Rope Gun and the Rebreather, essential tools for traversing flooded areas. The Flooded cave, located in the central region of the Island at the mountain’s base, harbors the coveted Shovel.
Upon entering the cave, you’ll encounter a steep drop that must be approached with caution to avoid injury. Utilize your Rope Gun to descend safely, retrieve an Air Tank, and ascend back up. Remove the cloth obstructing the rope leading to the next area and use your Rope Gun to cross. In the subsequent area, gather resources and navigate through an underwater tunnel while monitoring your oxygen levels.
As you progress, you’ll encounter hostile cannibals eager to engage in combat. Dispatch them swiftly and continue following the path. Eventually, you’ll reach a spacious area illuminated by a lone worker’s body, holding the Shovel. Beware, as the Twins will emerge from the ground behind the worker, initiating a battle.
