As you explore the early-game phase of Palworld, you’re likely to gather some ore, but what’s its purpose? You’ll need a Primitive Furnace to smelt ore into ingots, that’s what!
How to Unlock the Primitive Furnace in Palworld
To unlock the Primitive Furnace, you must reach level 10. Then, it requires three Technology Points in the Technology Tree. Once unlocked, you can craft one anywhere in your base using these materials:
- 20x Wood.
- 50x Stone.
- 3x Flame Organs.
Obtaining Flame Organs may be the most challenging part, but you can gather some by battling fire-type Pals, such as Foxparks in the starting zone.
Overall, the Primitive Furnace isn’t too costly. It’s advisable to craft two or three around your base to ensure continuous smelting. I usually build two Primitive Furnaces, especially in the early to mid-game when ore flow is limited, and there are only a few slots for Pals to work in my base.
How to Use the Primitive Furnace
After constructing a Primitive Furnace, you’ll notice it’s not interactable like the Primitive Workbench or Red Berry Farm. Instead, you need to assign a Fire-type Pal to the furnace. They’ll use their Kindling ability to heat ore and craft ingots or other items for mid-game crafting and construction.
Additionally, once you reach level 20, consider placing a Flame Cauldron near the Primitive Furnace. It boosts the efficiency of Kindling, making crafting easier and faster.
Best Pals for Kindling in Palworld
To use a Primitive Furnace, you need a fire-type Pal capable of producing Kindling. Some of the best options are:
- Foxparks (early game).
- Blazamut.
- Blazehowl.
- Faleris.
- Reptyro.
- Jormuntide Ignis.
Early on, Foxparks is the best choice as it’s readily available. However, as you progress and collect more Pals, aim for those with higher Kindling levels.
The higher the Kindling ability, the more efficient the smelting. Pals with Level 3 Kindling offer some of the most efficient smelting. Eventually, you’ll want to obtain a Jormuntide Ignis, the only Pal with Kindling level 4.
