The Venomous Magus serves as the boss of Tartarus floor 99 in Persona 3 Reload. As a Gatekeeper, defeating it is necessary to advance up the tower, and it is accompanied by two Five Fingers of Blights, adding an extra layer of challenge.
Fortunately, all these adversaries possess weaknesses. Following the challenging encounter with the Deviant Convict, I anticipated an escalation in difficulty with Persona 3 Reload’s boss battles. However, this battle reverts to the straightforward weakness exploitation loops typical of most other fights in the game. Therefore, with the appropriate affinities, defeating the Venomous Magus should pose little difficulty.

The Five Fingers of Blights are susceptible to Dark, while the Venomous Magus is weak to Electric. Having both Akihiko and Koromaru in your party should make this battle relatively easy. It’s worth noting that the Venomous Magus is impervious to Fire and Wind damage.
How to beat the Floor 99 boss, Venomous Magus
Initiate the battle by using one of Akihiko’s Electric attacks or Koromaru’s Dark attacks to knock down one enemy, then switch to the other and do the same. Once all enemies are knocked down, execute an All-Out Attack, then repeat this process until they are defeated. The other two party members can employ any actions they prefer.
There’s an even simpler method to defeat the Venomous Magus and Five Fingers of Blights, which involves equipping your Leader with at least one Persona possessing both an Electric attack and a Dark attack. I personally employed this strategy (while also bringing Akihiko along), utilizing the Persona Thunderbird, which features an Electric attack by default and inherited a Dark attack through fusion. There are numerous paths to acquiring a Persona with this combination of affinities, and if necessary, you can obtain the required skills from the Compendium.
The primary strategy of the Venomous Magus is to inflict poison, but employing the aforementioned tactic allows you to emerge victorious long before any party members succumb to poison.
