Can you play Skull and Bones offline?

The notion of an interconnected online realm doesn’t appeal to everyone, so let’s delve into Skull and Bones and explore whether there’s an option to sail solo offline.

I know, it’s hard to believe. Skull and Bones has been on the horizon for what feels like ages, but it’s finally ready to set sail and commandeer your time. Since its initial announcement, Skull and Bones has weathered numerous delays, but Ubisoft’s ambitious pirate adventure is finally here, and the open beta offers a prime opportunity to discover what it has to offer.

A central aspect of Skull and Bones is its interconnected world, where real players populate your server, alongside friends in your crew. However, I understand if this isn’t your cup of tea, and you’d prefer to enjoy a solitary pirate experience offline.

Is Skull and Bones offline?

According to Ubisoft, Skull and Bones does not feature offline play; it’s strictly an online-only endeavor. You must be online at all times to partake in the adventure.

In Ubisoft’s Skull & Bones Parent’s Guide, the developer states that the pirate adventure is an “Online game: An internet connection is required to play.” This reflects the modern gaming landscape, where certain games necessitate a constant online connection. If you reside in an area with limited WiFi coverage, lack internet access altogether, or encounter router issues, playing the game may prove challenging, if not impossible.

Such are the unfortunate realities of our world at times. However, if you’re fortunate enough to have reliable connectivity, you can still immerse yourself in the game and embark on initial activities, such as acquiring Acacia in Skull and Bones.
