Diablo 4 | How to complete the Cleanse Shrine Whisper objective

To celebrate the Lunar New Year in Diablo 4, players in Sanctuary can participate in the Lunar Awakening event, featuring special event shrines across the map identified by a distinct purple icon.

Before engaging with these shrines, if you aim to commence earning Lunar Awakening rewards along with rewards from the Tree of Whispers, you should converse with Ying-Yue in Ked Bardu. Once this step is completed, it’s time to embark on the search for shrines in Diablo 4.

How to complete the Cleanse Shrine Whisper objective

Achieving the Cleanse Shrine Whispers involves finding the Whispers of the Dead versions of Lunar Shrines scattered across the map. This effort will yield both Ancestral Favor tiers and Grim Favors that can be exchanged at the Tree of Whispers. These special event Lunar Awakening Shrines stand out as one of the most efficient activities in the current endgame, advancing two distinct reward paths simultaneously.

To fulfill the Cleanse Shrine Whispers task, pinpoint them on your map. They are denoted by the red Whispers of the Dead activity background, accompanied by the purple special event star, and labeled “Cleanse Lunar Shrine of Miserly Favors.” The Shrine itself will be situated near the marker.

Upon reaching the Shrine, activate it to receive your typical random Shrine buff. However, brace yourself for combat against several elite Miserly Spirits. These spirits shouldn’t pose too much difficulty, especially if you benefit from an active Shrine buff.

Defeating the nearby spirits will earn you Grim Favors, contributing to unlocking a Whispers of the Dead reward. Additionally, each vanquished Miserly Spirit will garner you Ancestral Favor, which in turn unlocks Lunar Awakening reward tiers. All Lunar Awakening rewards, spanning gold, caches, trophies, and skins, can be obtained from Ying-Yue in Ked Bardu.
