Vampire Lord Zir was introduced during the Season of Blood and remains accessible in Seasonal Realms. This vampire drops valuable loot for Diablo 4 players, but locating, summoning, and defeating this boss presents a challenge.
Diablo 4’s Season of Blood brought significant changes to the Seasonal Realms, including the addition of the Lord Zir boss fight. Like other bosses from past and future seasons, you must collect specific items scattered across Sanctuary to summon this formidable boss.
Where to Encounter Lord Zir in Diablo 4
To summon Lord Zir in Diablo 4, you need to journey to the Darkened Way in the Fractured Peaks. This cavernous area leads to the Ancient’s Seat, where you will summon Lord Zir.
The dungeon preceding the Lord Zir fight is brief with minimal enemy resistance. If you are around level 91, you should find the dungeon relatively easy. The Apotheosis marks the final section of the Ancient’s Seat, where you will discover the Bloodied Altar to summon this ultimate boss.
How to Summon Lord Zir in Diablo 4
To summon Lord Zir in Diablo 4, place nine Exquisite Blood vials on the Bloodied Altar located in The Apotheosis. You can acquire Exquisite Blood by defeating world bosses in World Tier Four or by participating in Legion Gathering events.
Once you possess the Exquisite Blood, you can summon Lord Zir. While you can explore other parts of the dungeon within the Ancient’s Seat, you must possess this essential item to confront the Vampire Lord.
How to Defeat Lord Zir in Diablo 4
Lord Zir in Diablo 4 has four fight phases. Be cautious of his two frontal hits and scythe sweep. Maintain mobility and avoid standing in front of him to evade these attacks while focusing on other aspects of the battle.
- Phase One – Defeat the Elite Bloodseekers as Zir spawns them.
- Phase Two – Dodge the Blood Balls Zir places around the arena. These can transform into either Blood Waves or enemy minions. Similar to Bloodseekers, eliminate the minions as they spawn.
- Phase Three – Zir teleports to opposite sides of the arena. Anticipate Zir’s teleportation and avoid the targeted area.
- Phase Four – Zir’s final mechanic is a Blood Rain that inflicts Vulnerability. Stay clear of this AoE spell to avoid the detrimental status effect.
Although Lord Zir can be challenging, with perseverance, I managed to defeat him solo. Before engaging, consider consuming Elixirs of Shadow Resistance, as this is the primary form of damage dealt by the boss.
