A server reset can keep your Palworld experience fresh. Whether on official or private servers, there comes a time when you’ll want to start anew.
I began on an official server and encountered a reset during a server wipe bug on day 32. Planning to set up a dedicated server with friends, we eventually opted for a Palworld server wipe to start together.
How to do a Palworld server reset
Change your Palworld server’s location
The simplest method is to move your Palworld server to a new location. Switch back for access to your pre-reset progress. Rename your character to avoid file mismatches.
Delete every file in the home folder
Alternatively, take your server offline and delete all files in the home folder via your hosting service’s Files section. This resets your Palworld server entirely.
How to reset player data in a Palworld server
To reset a player’s data:
- Log in as an admin.
- Type “/showplayers” in chat and note the player’s ID.
- The player must be online.
- Convert the ID to hexadecimal.
- Take the server offline.
- In the server panel, navigate to the Pal folder, then to Saved-SaveGames-0.
- Delete the corresponding “.sav” file for the player’s hexadecimal ID.
