As the seasons unfold in Stardew Valley, new opportunities for community improvement arise. Enter Trash Bear, a unique character appearing in the third year of the game, offering quests to beautify Pelican Town. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore when and where to find Trash Bear, his quest locations, and the rewards that await you upon completion.
When Does Trash Bear Appear?
Trash Bear makes his debut on the first non-rainy day of the third year. Players should eagerly anticipate this event, marking the beginning of quests to enhance the town’s aesthetics. Don’t worry about immediate interaction; Trash Bear remains available until all quests are completed, allowing flexibility in approaching these tasks.
Trash Bear’s Location
To locate Trash Bear, head to the Cindersap Forest, near the sewer drain at the bottom of the map. The marked circle on the map indicates his position, perched on a cliff near the stairway leading down to the sewer. To reach this spot, enter the Cindersap Forest near Marnie’s Ranch, travel south to the river, cross a wooden bridge to a small island, and continue south to find Trash Bear.
Trash Bear’s Quests
Upon encountering Trash Bear, initiate a conversation to trigger a series of four quests. These quests involve bringing him various items, including fish, foraged items, and cooked dishes. Let’s delve into the details of these quests:
Fish & Foraged Items
The requested fish or foraged items vary by season. Here’s a breakdown of the possible requests for each season:

Requests may change with the season, except for the ongoing quest. Some items are constant, while others are season-specific. If a season change occurs during a quest, the item requested remains constant if it is on the list for the next season.
Cooked Dishes
After completing the fish and foraged items requests, Trash Bear will ask for two cooked dishes. Any meal in the game can fulfill these requests. Recipes for these dishes can be learned from The Queen of Sauce television show, purchased from Gus, the Traveling Cart, or obtained as gifts from villagers.
Unlike the fish and foraged item requests, the dishes requested by Trash Bear remain constant, even if the season changes.
Rewards From Trash Bear
Upon completing all four quests, Trash Bear will soar away on his umbrella, leaving behind transformed areas and rewarding you with the following:
- Replacing the trash on the water’s edge near the sewer with bushes and trees.
- Upgrading the dog pen next to the Stardrop Saloon.
- Removing the trash from Pam’s front yard.
